What is an image to pixel art converter?
An image to pixel art converter turns a photo or illustration into a low-resolution grid of colored cells. ImgEdify also creates numbered references and a printable color key so the result can be redrawn by hand.
Can I use this as a paint by numbers generator?
Yes. Use the numbered guide or blank worksheet export. Each grid cell has a color number, and the color key lists the matching HEX color and how many cells use it.
Does ImgEdify upload my image to a server?
No. This first version processes JPG, PNG, and WebP files in your browser with Canvas. The image does not need to be uploaded to generate the pixel grid.
What grid size should I choose?
Start with 32 x 32 for simple icons or 48 x 48 for portraits. Larger grids such as 96 x 96 and 128 x 128 preserve more detail but take longer to redraw by hand.
When should I turn dithering on?
Turn dithering on for photos, gradients, skin tones, skies, and AI images with soft lighting. Turn it off for logos, flat icons, and clean line art.
