Browser-based and private

Make images easier to redraw, craft, teach, and share.

ImgEdify converts an image into a practical creation guide, not just a visual filter. You get a pixel art version, a readable grid, a color-by-number worksheet, and a color key that turns a complex picture into a step-by-step reference.

Pixel art planning

Convert portraits, icons, pets, logos, or AI images into a clean pixel grid you can redraw by hand.

Paint by numbers

Generate a numbered worksheet and a color key for classroom activities, hobby projects, or coloring sheets.

Craft patterns

Plan bead art, cross-stitch, diamond painting, LEGO-style mosaics, and other cell-based craft work.

How the pixel grid generator works

  1. 1Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image. ImgEdify processes it locally in your browser.
  2. 2Choose the grid size, row count, color limit, palette mode, and dithering setting.
  3. 3Generate the pixel art preview, numbered guide, blank worksheet, and color key.
  4. 4Download the outputs as PNG files and use them as a hand-drawing or craft reference.

Image to pixel art FAQ

What is an image to pixel art converter?

An image to pixel art converter turns a photo or illustration into a low-resolution grid of colored cells. ImgEdify also creates numbered references and a printable color key so the result can be redrawn by hand.

Can I use this as a paint by numbers generator?

Yes. Use the numbered guide or blank worksheet export. Each grid cell has a color number, and the color key lists the matching HEX color and how many cells use it.

Does ImgEdify upload my image to a server?

No. This first version processes JPG, PNG, and WebP files in your browser with Canvas. The image does not need to be uploaded to generate the pixel grid.

What grid size should I choose?

Start with 32 x 32 for simple icons or 48 x 48 for portraits. Larger grids such as 96 x 96 and 128 x 128 preserve more detail but take longer to redraw by hand.

When should I turn dithering on?

Turn dithering on for photos, gradients, skin tones, skies, and AI images with soft lighting. Turn it off for logos, flat icons, and clean line art.
